The Cascadier: The Enchanted Arcade Interior

The Cascadier is set within the enchanted arcade. This mystical domain is a liminal space taking the form that represents the god that governs it. During the time of the events of the game, the Arcade is hosted by the games main character, Fortuna, Goddess of luck. The arcade is a place where she can draw power from the euphoria of people that happen to stumble upon where the arcade decides to show up.

The tree in the middle of the arcade represents the lifeblood of the structure. Inspired by many concept of existing mythology like the tree of life. In earlier ideas of the tree actually trapped Theodan among the roots like a cage, reflecting Nidhoggr.

The Arcade interior went through a few passes of visual development as it was established, here it looks closer to a traditional arcade.

I was inspired by a trip to Brighton pier, which has a large metal rotunda that houses most of the pears arcade games. Taking that structure and mixing it with an old 1960s seaside arcade was where the style eventually landed.
